Introducing Love Ends Disaster!, a band who’ve made a habit of writing deliciously contorted pop songs. Here are some things you should know before listening to their new double A-side single ‘Suzanne’ / ‘Dinosaur’.
‘Suzanne’ is another of the band’s cheery pop numbers about obsession, alienation, death and depression – all the things that make life worthwhile. You can also dance to it.
‘Dinosaur’ is an expression of the reverence and respect that Love Ends Disaster!, as young musicians naturally feel towards Elton John. God bless you Elton, and a very merry Christmas.
Previous single, ‘Ladders’, sold out of its limited run of 500 copies in less than a week after some lovely reviews and the support of Colin Murray and Huw Stephens on BBC Radio 1 and Jon Kennedy on XFM.
Over the past year, Love Ends Disaster! have had the pleasure of playing with Foals, Maps, Cherry Ghost and Babyshambles. They even liked some of them.
Rough Trade have tipped them to be “massive”, and Drowned in Sound described them as “serious contenders” who sound “like a midnight lecture from David Byrne to Peter Perrett on the horrors of intravenous narcotic abuse”.
‘Suzanne’ / ‘Dinosaur’ is to be released on a limited edition run of 500 7″ records on Monday 26th November via This Is Fake DIY Records. It will also be available to download from iTunes et al.
