  1. The Research Sign To DIY

Posted 28th August 2008, 2:00pm in The Research

Oh bleedin' heck, you don't get more excited than this. Quite probably DIY's favourite band of 2006 are back with a new album, single and tour, and they're doing it through This Is Fake DIY Records.

Feel free to hang out the massive, brightly coloured banners screaming of bias right now, viewers. It's been what seems like an age since The Research were last throwng perfect pop records in our direction, but fear not; 'The Old Terminal' (for that is its name - Ed) is a tour de force that more than matches their brilliant debut. It has thirteen tracks and is due to hit your local record emporium on October 27th. Before that there's the audio delights of single 'I Think She's The One I Love', which has quite literally the best cover art you're likely to see in your entire life (it features both a dog, and make up - Ed). We'll still be giggling about it when October 20th comes around, no doubt.

The full tracklisting of 'The Old Terminal' reads:

    'Golden Rules'
    'Lost Souls In The Vapours'
    'I Think She's The One I Love'
'She Is Cold As Death, Cold As Death, Cold As Death'
    'Treasure Every Measure'
    'Librarian Girl'
'Rockin' The Boat With My Friends'
    'All My Love'
'I Think I Know What Happens When You Die'
'There Are No Subs In My Team'
'I Would Like To Be Forgiven' (feat. Gary Jarman)
    'Going To Disappearing'
    'Anytime, Babe'

We'd tell you which are the best tracks, but rather predictably, it's all of them.

On top of that, the band are set to head out on a fantastical magical mystery tour, calling at:
