Hinterland Interview Manda

Posted 11th November 2008 in Manda Rin

Our friends over at new Glaswegian festival Hinterland have interviewed our very own Manda Rin:

"Hinterview with… Manda Rin!

Manda Rin most famously was one third of Glasgow pop punksters Bis. Bis’ most famous achievement (and there are many!) was being the very first unsigned band to perform on Top of the Pops. They played their hit “Kandy Pop” to the unsuspecting viewers and went on to sell 100,000 records in Japan! They soon signed with the Beastie Boys’ label Grand Royal and wrote some music for the popular cartoon series The Powerpuff Girls. However, in 2003 the band decided to call it a day.

Now Manda Rin is back and better than ever. She released My DNA on This Is Fake DIY Records in September.

Being signed to one of our committee members’ label and being from Glasgow, the very city that Hinterland will make it’s home, we thought it only appropriate to grab Manda Rin for a quick chat and she was kind enough to oblige."
