The Chiara L’s
The Chiara L’s are a female-fronted indie-pop group based in Leeds. Since their first shows, they have quickly built up a following with their blend of insistent guitars, infectious basslines, punchy rhythms and addictive melody. Their first demo featured the songs ‘Knives’, ‘Bad Hair Day’ and ‘White Candy Song’, and was recorded in February 2006.
Their most recent recordings were completed in April 2007, and feature the tracks ‘You Do’, ‘Odio’ and Kate’s Kid’.
The band have been chosen as Steve Lamacq’s demo of the week on BBC 6 Music and are now breaking in to the south too, with gigs at The Old Blue Last and Club Fandango at Dublin Castle. The band were also featured on BBC Radio 1’s Best of Unsigned podcast in March 2007. The Chiara L’s latest shows have seen the addition of new member Emma Quick on synths, as the band continue to make their way around the UK.
