Duels

Duels

Duels are core members Jim (guitars, keys) and Jon Foulger (vocals, guitars, keys), Jon Maher (bass) and James Kirkbright (drums). Additional members include Katherine Botterill (keys) and, making her debut on new album 'The Barbarians Move In', Lesley Turner (violin). Duels' style is dramatic, sometimes avant-garde, new-wave pop with sinister undercurrents that creates a unique and vibrant sound.

Duels have toured the UK with the likes of Kaiser Chiefs, Graham Coxon, The Cribs, The Rakes and Forward, Russia. In addition to a performance on Channel 4's 'The Album Chart Show', they opened the Main Stage at T In The Park 2006, along with triumphant performances at V and Reading and Leeds Festivals' Radio 1/NME stages. Debut album 'The Bright Lights And What I Should Have Learned', produced by James Ford (Klaxons, Arctic Monkeys) was released in 2006 to widespread critical acclaim.

Naming influences such as Can, Neu!, Robert Wyatt and Ooioo amongst others, Duels released second album 'The Barbarians Move In' in early 2008.
