“Trent Reznor playing Electric Death Ping Pong with Prince”. That is, apparently, how we’re supposed to interpret the sounds coming from Bolt Action Five’s various electronic devices. We’re not quite sure whether these two luminaries are friends, but it’s nearly as interesting an image as the band themselves create.

The London-based dance-punk (at least that’s what we’re settling on this week, the boys have a habit of describing their noise in increasingly creative ways) quartet formed in early 2006, and earned themselves a lightning-speed reputation, performing at the inaugural Latitude Festival in Suffolk within months of their creation.

Debut single ‘Tree Friend Tree Foe’ - backed with a Kissy Sell Out remix of the same track - was released in March 2007 via No Pain In Pop, and the band are quickly gaining fans overseas, with a six-track EP scheduled for US release in July 2007.
